Residents Can Sign Up for Emergency Alerts Via Text Message and VoIP - Los Angeles Events
Many people don't have traditional phone telephones anymore, but rely on cell phones and Internet phones, called Voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP). As an outcome, they aren't on the Telephone Emergency Notification System (TENS) list for emergency alerts regarding evacuations and disasters. Now San Bernardino residents can sign up to receive alerts on their cell phones or VoIP.
